Our Homeschooling Promises
Our Convictions in Homeschooling
The Southern Baptist Academy Homeschool Program believes first and foremost that Jesus Christ is Lord. As such, His teachings are to play a preeminent role in all of life, especially education. This principle shapes our entire homeschool curriculum and academic philosophy.
Furthermore, The Southern Baptist Academy Homeschool Program holds to the statement of faith as proposed by The Southern Baptist Convention.
The Southern Baptist Academy Homeschool Program believes that our children are gifts from God, each with unique abilities and skills that can be cultivated and brought out through the proper education.
Children need care and authority that can only come from a loving parent. We believe that parents can best provide the educational guidance children need through homeschooling.
In order to ensure that children grow and develop in the Lord, it is imperative that we remove ourselves from the ways of the world.
Our Homeschool Education Philosophy
The Southern Baptist Academy Homeschool Program partners with homeschool parents to provide all children, especially those with special needs and learning styles, with access to a top-tier Christian education. This homeschool education is a teacher-led multimedia array of CD-ROMS, videos, audio files, web pages, traditional print materials, and more. We believe that learning can come from everywhere, not just textbooks.
Children develop at different rates and through different learning styles. Therefore, a "one size fits all" curriculum only serves to stifle or confuse many students. This is why we use a "learn at your own pace" homeschool curriculum structure that caters to the unique needs of each homeschooler.
The Southern Baptist Academy Homeschool Program will nurture homeschool students' unique God-given skills and talents. Our homeschool curriculum will spark their imagination and curiosity for learning with a cutting-edge multimedia presentation.
The Southern Baptist Academy K-12 Homeschool Program is a socially-interactive community of learners. As such, communication is not limited to just teacher-student. Homeschool students are encouraged to interact with one another in our homeschool social center in order to cultivate key social skills.
Our Mission in Homeschooling
We believe that we have been called by God as a company to provide Southern Baptists with the homeschool resources they need to bring about a wide-scale exodus as called for by Pastor Wiley Drake and Bruce Shortt in the Exit Strategy Resolution. Read our full Mission Statement.
Parental Homeschooling Support
The Southern Baptist Academy Homeschool Program strives to lend a helping hand to homeschool parents who have bravely removed their children from public school. We understand that homeschooling can be a daunting task, and we want your child's education to be as smooth and hassle-free as possible.
That's why we offer parental support from our Homeschool Curriculum Developers and Academic Counselors. This ensures that your child will be on the right track. These homeschool professionals help to take much of the busywork and clerical duties out of homeschooling. It's just like going to a real private school in the comfort and safety of your own home.
It is our desire not just to provide homeschool curriculum, but to partner up with parents, that we might facilitate the homeschooling process. We consider it a special part of our calling to assist homeschool families with disadvantaged or disabled children. We understand that this can be a tremendous burden. With God's grace, we will do our best to help you provide the love and care that your homeschooler needs.
The Southern Baptist Academy Homeschool Program will challenge your homeschooling children with a compelling online multimedia program in which your children will be fascinated. We offer a cutting-edge online homeschool program full of the latest software and teaching technology. Whether it's a hazardous trek to the top of Mt. Ararat or a blissful evening spent stargazing, your homeschooler will recognize that the world is his or her classroom. Learn more about our homeschool curriculum.
Parents can rest easy knowing that our entire homeschool curriculum is based in the Scriptures. Your homeschool students will only learn information that has been heavily informed by a solid Christian worldview.
Intellectual Development in Homeschooling
We wish to nurture your child's mind and heart, cultivating a desire to seek the Lord's wisdom, not the world's. The Southern Baptist Academy will train your children to put their faith in the Lord and the Bible. Your homeschooling child will develop a life-long appreciation for learning, not just memorizing facts.
Your Christian homeschooler will build a solid intellectual foundation such that when s/he graduates, they are ready to defend their faith with cohesive, logical arguments. They will feel comfortable interacting with all kinds of people. Most importantly, they will be comfortable with sharing their Christian faith.
Furthermore, The Southern Baptist Academy will prepare your child to make good financial, political, and social choices. Your homeschooling students will be ready to make informed decisions regarding the civic realm.
